Copper

Base & Precious Metals

Copper is an essential metal for the world economy. Half of global copper supply is used in construction, but demand from sectors like electric vehicles and energy storage has increased demand for the base metal. VVC converts exploration properties into economic-producing mines using commercial and environmental best practices.  VVC’s focus copper project is Gloria, a near-production copper project in Northern Mexico.  The company also engages in the exploration of new copper projects as well as other associate metals including gold and silver.

Copper Production

VVC’s current focus is the near-production copper project, Gloria, which hosts oxide copper mineralization with a copper resource of 59.4 million pounds. Gloria, a copper project in Northern Mexico, is VVC’s main property and present focus. Gloria hosts oxide copper mineralization with a copper resource of 59.4 million pounds, indicated (9.6M tonnes grading 0.28% Cu) and 89.33 million pounds, inferred (14.4M tonnes grading 0.28% Cu).

The property comprises 4,055 acres in Chihuahua State, Mexico, 30 miles south of El Paso, TX. Drilling over the past 2 years at Gloria has defined a significant copper mineralized zone over a 15 KM strike.

Copper Exploration

VVC’s experienced exploration team targets regions to evaluate, discover and define the mineralized zones and their geological and structural setting by applying industry-standard exploration sampling methodologies and techniques.

Base & Precious Metals

Other VVC projects include: Cumeral, a gold/silver project in Northern Sonora, MX; La Osa and El Recreo, two gold/copper projects located in Northern Sonora and near Mazatlan, MX; respectively.

Did you know that EVs need up to six times more minerals than conventional cars? EVs are mineral-intensive and are pushing up demand for critical battery metals. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), lithium, nickel, and cobalt demand is expected to grow from 10%-20% to over 80% by 2030. As countries around the world pledge to go all-electric by 2035 and 2040, do we have enough mineral supply for EV demand? Factors such as geopolitical concentration of resources, quality of materials, mining industry lead times, and environmental factors will together determine whether we have the minerals we need. Let’s take a look at how critical minerals are affected.

Copper has many important applications in the modern economy. From smartphones and cars, to homes and hospitals, we use the metal almost everywhere, especially with renewable energy. Often, consumers take for granted the accessibility to modern technology without the thought of where the materials come from or their impact on the environment. The world and its resources are finite and confined by both geography and the technology used to extract resources. As governments and economies struggle to achieve a sustainable balance between humanity’s material impact and the health of the planet, knowing the availability of resources will become a critical pivot for achieving and maintaining that balance.

A copper crunch is coming as demand builds and the hunt for viable deposits comes up short. That’s according to Robert Friedland, a well-known mining industry financier whose current roles include board leadership positions at Ivanhoe Mines (TSX:IVN,OTCQX:IVPAF) and Ivanhoe Electric (TSX:IE,NYSEAMERICAN:IE). "We see a crisis coming in physical markets, and we see a requirement for much, much higher copper prices," he said in a recorded interview played at the Rule Symposium, held from July 7 to 11 in Boca Raton, Florida.
